Dr. Farshad Shishehchian
Introduction
Dr. Farshad Shishehchian holds a Ph.D. in Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecology with a focus on shrimp farming, and completed the Senior Executive Management Program at the Kellogg School of Management. With over 30 years of hands-on experience managing aquaculture farms globally, Dr. Farshad is a proven expert. He invented the Mixotrophic™️ System, a super-intensive shrimp farming method patented in eight countries, and received the Global Aquaculture Industry Award in 2021 from WAS. As the CEO and founder of Blue Aqua International Group, headquartered in Singapore and operating in 14 countries, Dr. Farshad oversees a company that provides comprehensive solutions for the aquaculture industry. Blue Aqua offers a wide range of specialty products and services, aiming to maximize customer profits while promoting sustainable practices.
Blue Aqua operates a super-intensive farm, hatchery, and shrimp breeding center in Singapore, supplying seafood to local retailers and restaurants. The company plans to launch the Blue Aqua Trout Farm (3,000 MT/Yearly) and Feed Mill (10,000 MT/Yearly) by late 2024, and a 1,000 MT shrimp farm in Oman by early 2025, reinforcing its leadership in food security in Singapore and the region.
Dr. Farshad also founded the Asian Aquaculture Network (AAN), a non-profit dedicated to educating new generations. He served as President of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), Asia Pacific Chapter, from 2013 to 2016, and was a board member of the Aquaculture Engineering Society from 2019 to 2023.

Amornrat Boonchuay
Introduction
Ms. Amornrat Boonchuay is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Co-founder of the Blue Aqua group of companies. She specializes in product development and research and development (R&D) for the company’s farm care business. Ms. Boonchuay graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of San Francisco.With over 20 years of experience in the aquaculture and livestock industry, Ms. Boonchuay has been instrumental in Blue Aqua’s growth since its inception in 2009. She has developed and implemented sustainable business structures through efficient and strategic management of sales, marketing communications, technical operations, accounting, and logistics. Her active involvement in business strategy development and identifying opportunities has been key to the organization’s success.
Under Ms. Boonchuay’s leadership, Blue Aqua has become a leader in Asian aquaculture technology. Her extensive knowledge of the industry, including product development, operations, manufacturing, product registrations, and business management, continues to drive the group forward, setting new benchmarks in the aquaculture sector.
Vision for the future
Miss Boonchuay envisions Blue Aqua International playing a significant role in Singapore's 30 by 30 vision, aiming to produce 30% of the country's nutritional needs locally by 2030. She is committed to contributing to sustainable and innovative aquaculture practices to help achieve this goal.
